🍎 High-Fiber Baked Apples

Baked apples are a naturally sweet dessert that relies on fruit and whole-food ingredients rather than added sugars. This version includes fiber-rich oats and optional nuts for texture.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts or seeds (optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Core apples and place in a baking dish.
  3. Mix oats, nuts, cinnamon, and sweetener.
  4. Spoon mixture into the apples.
  5. Add water to the dish and cover loosely with foil.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until apples are soft.

Serving ideas

  • Serve warm with yogurt or plant-based yogurt
  • Sprinkle with extra cinnamon before serving
